I can’t believe Christmas has passed and it’s almost 2026! I haven’t written a blog post in what feels like ages but I finally have the free time to sit down and write. The new year has so many releases I absolutely can’t wait to read! Coming are the end to two incredibly popular series: Heartstopper and The Inheritance Games saga. Six of Crows also has a new short story coming as well as a couple of other releases that look incredible. On that note: Let’s dive in!

- The Gilded Blade by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
All games must come to an end. In this series-shattering conclusion, everyone is a player, long-held secrets are unveiled, precious threads are unraveled, and impossible mysteries are solved. In the grandest of games, there is so much to win–money, love, power, revenge – but there is also everything to lose.
I absolutely can’t wait to read this! The Inheritance Games series has been in my life for so long and I don’t want it to stop. Even though the series has so many books I will never stop reading them. Every time I return to the series it is so comforting and enthralling. At the same time I’m happy to finally have a conclusion to the epic story. As much as finishing a good series makes me sad, it also gives me so much satisfaction.

- Heartstopper #6 by Alice Osman
My favourite graphic novels ever! I love Heartstopper so much: the adorable romance, the real and important problems it talks about and the beautiful illustrations. It’s simply a masterpiece. I’m so excited to figure out what the last volume will hold. Another amazing series coming to an end. :( Nick and Charlie have to be the cutest couple ever(I need to know what happens to them)!! On that note Heartstopper has such an unforgettable set of characters. They all get developed really nicely and I love how the books don’t just focus on Nick and Charlie but also all of their friends and family.

3. Six of Crows: A Darker Shore by Leigh Bardugo
In the years since the violent upheaval caused by the auction of Kuwei Yul-Bo, the merchants of Ketterdam have been under attack. Secret businesses exposed. Ships sunk. Slavers hunted as they once hunted their victims. All the work of a mysterious sea captain and her ship, the Wraith.
Now, two investigators meet to uncover the truth behind the latest disaster: a massacre on an island off the shores of Ketterdam. Among the evidence collected is private correspondence between notorious crime boss Kaz Brekker and an anonymous sailor aboard the Wraith known only as “I.”
Welcome back to the Grishaverse! This short story is set after Crooked Kingdom (book two in the Six of Crows series). I was so happy when I discovered this book was coming out. Even though there is a pretty clear ending when Crooked Kingdom finishes I have been wondering what has been happening to the characters. This book is perfect for all the other fans of Six of Crows who want more. This book is illustrated by E.K. Belsher; I cannot wait to see the world of Six of Crows come alive in illustrations.

4. Beth is Dead by Katie Bernet
When Beth March is found dead in the woods on New Year’s Day, her sisters vow to uncover her murderer.
Suspects abound. There’s the neighbor who has feelings for not one but two of the girls. Meg’s manipulative best friend. Amy’s flirtatious mentor. And Beth’s lionhearted first love. But it doesn’t take the surviving sisters much digging to uncover motives each one of the March girls had for doing the unthinkable.
Little Women and murder, the minute I saw this book I was hooked! This is such a crazy concept to me and I can’t wait to see how it plays out. The book is set in the present day like many other adaptations. I have read many other amazing Little Women adaptations but never anything like this. If you’re interested in looking at the classic before you read this adaptation check out our review of Little Women here. If you enjoy a good murder mystery and love classics this is the perfect book for you!

5. The secret world of Briar Rose by Cindy Pham
100 years have passed since the last heir of Gyldan fell into eternal slumber and doomed the once-mighty kingdom into poverty and invasion. At least, that’s what the fairy tales claim.
Corin is a jaded thief who doesn’t believe in fables, even when she searches Gyldan’s underground tunnels to find her younger sister, Elly, who ran away to find the sleeping princess in hopes of a better life.
If you love fantasy, fairy tales and the bonds of sisterhood this book is for you! This book’s cover is gorgeous but that’s not the only reason I want to read it. This retelling of Sleeping Beauty looks like the perfect fantasy novel. I can’t wait to dive in and meet these sisters and the world they live in.
Finally all of these books look incredible. 2026 is coming very soon and so are a lot of these releases. Enjoy fantasy, murder mystery, romance and so much coming in 2026. Let me know in the comments what new releases you cannot wait to read!
